HAND CARVED WEEPING YOGI – To Hold
Made by Balinese villagers (people with spirit)

For the last couple of years we have sent these little yogis to friends or family who are traveling a bumpy road in their journey through life. This yogi to hold is perfect for someone to hold tightly while sharing their feelings of sadness. Called weeping or grieving yogis, they are hand carved as part of an ancient Hindu tradition in Bali. The Balinese, who are known for their joyful and gentle spirit, believe that sharing their sorrows lessens the load and sharing their joys makes them grow. So they share feelings of sadness with these little yogis and share their joys with each other. Holding his head in his hands, the yogi seems to be saying, "If it’s too much for you, please share it with me. It’s why I’m here. It is what I do."   We can’t help but wonder if these little yogis also share a little secret to happiness. Oh, joy!

Because they are handcrafted by different carvers, each yogi is unique with slight variations in size and color. (Made of panghal buaya wood and approximately 1-1/2” round)
