IRISH BREAKFAST TEA Catherine McAuley (1778 -1841) foundress of the Sisters of Mercy, served the poor and undereducated of Dublin, Ireland, with gentle compassion. Throughout her entire life Catherine McAuley devoted herself to serving others. With her spirit in mind, The Catherine McAuley Center created "Catherine's Comfortable Tea" to help support the programs at the center for undereducated adults and transitional housing for homeless women. We like to think that Catherine McAuley's compassionate spirit lives on with each little cup of tea because even on her deathbed, Catherine urged the Sisters of Mercy to always.
