The Community of Jesus is an ecumenical monastic community rooted in the Benedictine tradition. Building upon the ancient monastic tradition of candle-making, the sisters and brothers have begun handcrafting candles that are 100% natural, long lasting, clean burning and biodegradable.

For centuries candles have been part of sacred rituals; they are also used to celebrate birthdays and to remember loved ones who have died. Here at Holy Orders we mark the transition from our busy work day to our peaceful evening time with a candle lighting ceremony—a daily ritual we observe at golden hour—that magical time between daylight and twilight.

We encourage you to create your own candle-lighting ritual. It can be as simple as lighting one little candle or as elaborate as lighting candles in every corner of the room. Either way, we’re sure you will find it a soothing way to begin or end your day with the heavenly scent of honeysuckle.
