Many believe that flowers have their own special language for those who listen. Sister Victoria has been “listening to flowers” at the Redwoods Monastery for more than 25 years. She tells us that, “These flowers were drawn on days of retreat at the monastery, quiet times when there can be an encounter with the beauty of God’s infinite creative variation.”  She added that, “Sometimes a particular flower speaks to me, shows me its uniqueness, participating in the creative process and resulting in a joyful self offering.”  So when you want to say, “Thank you” or “I’m thinking of you” why not use the lovely language of monastery flowers.

Using watercolor and ink, colored pencil and ink or all three together, the flowers in Sister Victoria’s collection are either wildflowers or flowers cultivated by the sisters in the monastery garden. Each card includes a paper insert, making the card both a greeting and a gift.  Write your message on the insert and the recipient can then use the card to send on to someone else.
