SWISS LAVENDER SOAP
Made at the Benedictine Monastery of Perpetual Adoration
Clyde, Missouri
4 oz   24 grams

The history of soap making at the Benedictine Monastery in Missouri dates back to the 1880’s when the sisters made their own soap out of necessity. While the old-fashioned methods have given way to new techniques, the lavender flowers added to the soap still come from the Mother House in the Swiss Alps and the Clyde Monastery garden. In keeping with the Benedictine tradition, the sisters devote great attention to the details. Each batch is hand-blended using natural oils and glycerin to scent and soften the skin. Then the soap is individually cut and wrapped in hand-sewn muslin bags and sealed with the monastery logo. The packaging is so lovely and makes such a nice presentation that we decided not to use our signature burlap bag. The Sisters also add a few drops of holy water and a prayer to each batch. To that we say, “Amen.”

$8.25 (comes wrapped with ribbon and blessing but not in a holy orders burlap bag)
