Made by a small community of monastic nuns who have requested that the name of their monastery and its exact location in California remain a secret.

This very special monastic community has been making Sacred Bookmarks for us ever since we began including them with our book selections. The bookmarks are made from galloon braid imported from Europe and used as trim on sacred vestments. The sisters who live by the rule of “waste not, want not” use remnant pieces to make the bookmarks.  It would be impossible for us to display the multitude of styles and colors available so we selected two of our favorite designs and asked the sisters to make them into bookmarks so that we could offer them individually. We can’t help but wonder if their sacred origins might kindle a spark of divine inspiration during quiet hours of reading and contemplation.
